           According to the Hindu calendar, there are six seasons in a year in India.
  • Spring - Vasant Ritu.
  • Summar - Grishma Ritu.
  • Monsoon - Varsha Ritu.
  • Autumn - Sharat Ritu.
  • Pre-Winter - Hemant Ritu.
  • Winter - Shishir Ritu.
  ** Ritu means Season.

           The seasons in different parts of India vary with altitude, latitude and distance from the sea level.
               1. Spring - In the spring seasons the leaves  of trees fall, when new leaves emerge, when birds play their magic. This season is starts from mid-February and lasts till April. It is considered one of the most beautiful season in the country. During this time, the maximum temperatures sattles around 32 degree celcius.
              2. Summar - In summar seasons the weather turns gradually hotter across many parts of India. The seasons starts from April till June. The avarage temperatures around 38 degree celcius. The days are long during this period, while the nights are short.
             3. Monsoon - The seasons starts from the month of June and lasts untill the month of August, it starts raining across entire India which indicates the start of Monsoon season. The average temperatures settle around 35 degree celcius.
            4. Autumn - This season starts from mid- August and lasts till September. Autumn is the season after the rant season and before the Pre-Winter season. The average temperature in Autumn settle at 33 degree celcius.
            5. Pre-Winter - The time before winters is called Pre-Winter. The season after Autumn and before the winter season. The average temperatures settle at 26 degree celcius.
            6. Winter - The winter seasons of the year, usually seen between the month of January and February. Winter is the season after Pre-Winter and before the spring season. The average temperatures settle at 16 degree celcius.
